Meet Jamie Pasion Cohen, Founder

Jamie Pasion Cohen is the founder of Contractors License Experts and has worked in California contractor licensing since February 2007. She started at Ja-Set Insurance Agency, where she saw how many contractors were struggling with the licensing process and how little practical help was available to them.
Jamie specializes in simplifying the application process. She outlines exactly which steps apply to each applicant, what documentation the Contractors State License Board will expect, and what it will take to reach the outcome the client is after. Responsiveness and efficiency are what clients most often say sets the firm apart.
Jamie holds a California Insurance Agent license issued by the California Department of Insurance, license number 0M44197, which can be verified through the CDI license lookup. She is an affiliate member of the California Association of Business Brokers and has spoken at CABB events in 2023 and 2026.
Her specialist knowledge covers CSLB license classifications, qualifying individual requirements under BPC 7068.1, exam waiver eligibility, and the transfer rules that apply when a business is sold, inherited or restructured.

What we do not do
Contractors License Experts does not source or match RMOs. The company keeps no list of contractors willing to act as a qualifying individual. Clients must already have a trusted family member, business partner or former colleague who is willing to qualify the license.
Once that person is in place, Contractors License Experts handles the corporation setup, the application, the personnel filings and the bonding.
